A wedding slideshow consists of a series of photographs displayed with music. You choose the music that will be used and a variety of other options. A wedding slideshow can range from a simple slideshow to shows with elaborate transitions, zooms, pans, titles, and captions that fade in and out.
Many wedding slideshows start with photographs of the bride and progress from her childhood to her current age, and then continue to do the same for the groom. Then the couple is presented using pictures that show various sides of their relationship, with each other and with family and friends. Some companies will even use photos taken at your wedding ceremony from that morning to add at the end of your slideshow.
The completed show is burned onto a DVD and can be used for your wedding. It can be presented at your wedding reception. It can run all throughout your reception for people to watch at their leisure or you can showcase it during a special part of your reception, like just before or after the toast. You can present it at your ceremony or your wedding slideshow DVD can be presented to your guests as a wedding favor before they leave the reception. (see our favors section to find out how to make a cute cover for slideshow DVD to present it to your guests.)
Most companies will give you the option of just taking the DVD and showing it on your own, or for an additional charge, they will come to your event with a large screen, sound system and projector to show the slideshow like a movie.
If you decide to show the DVD on your own, make sure you make arrangements to play it. You will need a large . . . → Read More: All About Wedding Slideshows

Wedding trends for 2008 promise to bring more vitality and excitement to your big day! These will be fun weddings that you will really enjoy attending! Wedding trends for 2008 include different and more unusual wedding themes, wedding gifts, and honeymoon locations.
Eco-Friendly Trends: Organic and Green
As everyone continues to “go green”, wedding favors do the same. If you are looking for eco-friendly favors, consider flower seeds, mini potted plants or even bird’s nests.
Many wedding traditions and trends have changed along with wedding fashions. Though wedding trends may come and go, many items like reception favors and the use of calligraphy remain constants.
Couples that are tying the knot in 2008 are doing their best to be part of the environmental green movement by serving organic foods at their weddings and brides are carrying organic flowers, using recycled paper products, and serving organic foods at the reception. Today’s bride and groom are holding showers and receptions at unconventional sites such as homeless shelters as well as donating to charitable causes instead of receiving gifts.
Organic brides can choose a wedding dress made from sustainable materials such as Hemp, reuse a wedding dress, or make a wedding dress from eco-friendly materials. Green weddings will play a big part in weddings for 2008.
Honeymoon Trends
Couples that are marrying in 2008 won’t necessarily choose to celebrate their future lives together by honeymooning along side of a beach somewhere. Honeymooners are just as likely to seek out an action packed ten day stay at a ski resort in Pennsylvania or at a dude ranch in Montana or elect to spend their honeymoon vacation by participating in an activity they both enjoy. They may even go so far as to rough it by taking . . . → Read More: China Wedding Trends Review

Tips on Keeping a Wedding Affordable

Start with knowing how much you would like to spend, and be realistic. Here’s a list at the necessary expenses you can expect from a wedding:
Ceremony site
Reception site
Food/Caterers
Wedding cake
Bride’s dress
Groom’s tuxedo
Bride’s maids’ dresses
Invitations
Photography/Video
Tables and other equipment rentals
Transportation
Flowers
Decorations
Wedding favors
Music
Thank you cards (for after the wedding)
You might notice that really, it can be a very simple list when you put it all together and know what you will need. You can go through the list one by one. Note what will be most important to you and where you would . . . → Read More: A Budget Friendly Wedding

Congratulations! You’re getting ready for the happiest day of your life. Unfortunately, the year or so leading up to that day might be filled with stress, confusion, and exhaustion. Don’t worry. Planning the perfect wedding doesn’t have to be that bad. I recently planned a wedding myself. The seemingly endless little details may drive you crazy, but I found that there are just 15 things you need to concentrate on in order to have a perfect wedding.
Step 1: Budget. Whether you are spending $30,000 or $3,000 you can have a beautiful, meaningful wedding. Decide what is most important to you and then be creative. When planning your budget you will need to decide which of these items you want to include in your wedding and how much money to spend on each:
Clothing:
Wedding dress
Undergarments-special bra, crinoline, garter
Veil/Hair Jewelry
Shoes
Tux
Church Rental/Fees
Reception Rental/Fees
Catering Fees
Alcohol, Drinks
Flowers:

Bouquets for the Bridesmaids & Maid of Honor
Bouquets for the Mothers of the Bride and Groom
Boutonnieres for the Groom and Groomsmen
Reception Tables
Photographer
Videographer
Music:
Wedding
Cocktail Hour
Reception
Wedding Cake
Cake Topper

Stationary Items:
Save the Date

Other:

Flower Petals or other item to toss on Bride and Groom
Tips:

You do not need to include or buy every item. Wearing your mother’s wedding dress or using your parents’ cake topper will save money and add meaning to your day. There are also things that you can make; such as the ring pillow or wedding favors. Some items you can exclude all together. My husband and I decided to hire a photographer but no videographer.

The best way to plan your coming wedding is to start with a budget and then stick to that budget no matter what. Start with something reasonable, taking into consideration that food and entertainment are likely to be your biggest costs and plan the rest around that. Do not be afraid to negotiate with the vendors that are vying for your business. While some do not negotiate, some will. It never hurts to try and in fact, they would be surprised if you don’t.
Food is likely to be one of your biggest costs as it will be on a per head basis. The more people you invite, the more it is going to cost. Food and drink, not counting alcoholic beverages for 100 guests at a low fifty dollars per guest will set you back. Then the bar, if you decide to have one will usually cost anywhere from one to three thousand for 100 people is you figure the event to last four hours. More as the headcount goes up or the reception runs over.
Entertainment can be had at a reasonable cost, provided you do not hire someone like K C and the Sunshine band. Some wedding bands that are just starting out will work for less to get the exposure. Wedding bands can cost one thousand to three thousand but this price can be negotiated. The cost will depend on the size of the band and how much experience they have.
You will need a location to hold your wedding and wedding reception and it will need to be themed if you are going that route. You can negotiate with a good wedding theme supplier for just about any type of motif you’d like but remember that the more exotic the theme the more . . . → Read More: Weddings And Budgeting Go Hand In Hand

The bride’s wedding day is the most romantic day in her life. You will probably never feel more beautiful than you do at that moment when your groom spots you walking down the aisle. Who can resist a happy sigh when witnessing that moment?
When romance authors talk to the media, we’re often asked how to be more romantic. The truth is, romance always – always – springs from the couple in question. A friend’s husband gave her a fancy cheese grater for her birthday, and she loved it. A cheese grater? Loved? But for her, it was special because she had lusted after it in a store several months earlier, and he remembered. In my house, a cheese grater would not be a hit. On the other hand, my husband would be well rewarded if he gave me a high-end wine bottle opener.
So the trick to making your wedding day more romantic is to plan for moments that are very personal to you two as a couple. This is why so many women go all squishy inside at the thought of a couple writing their own vows. It doesn’t get more personal than that.
Here are some ideas to get you thinking. And the best part? They don’t cost a lot!
Before the Wedding
Write a letter to your fiancé to be read the morning of the wedding, and ask him to do the same for you. The closer the wedding gets, the crazier life seems to be. Slow down for a second and remember he’s the reason you’re getting married. The letter doesn’t have to be long—just a few lines reminding him why you love him and why he’s “the one.” In the rush to get ready for the walk down the aisle, set aside . . . → Read More: 11 Romantic (And Affordable) Wedding Day Ideas
